Join us at this month’s luncheon meeting for our featured speaker Judy Salamacha. As a recent board member of the Central Coast Maritime Museum Association, columnist Judy Salamacha will explain how 2016 and 2017 will be transformative years for the Maritime Museum of Morro Bay (MMMB). After 21 years of planning MMMB was officially relocated to its permanent address June 2, 2016 and architectural plans are in the works for the first of two buildings at 1210 Embarcadero. Meanwhile, after over 21 years of planning the Maritime Museum of San Diego will collaborate to help build MMMB as part of the maiden voyage of Juan Cabrillo’s Pacific Heritage Tour. Public tours on Cabrillo’s San Salvador, the first European ship to discover the Pacific coastline, will benefit MMMB between September 30 and October 9th helping to fund the Central Coast’s only Maritime Museum and Heritage Park. Salamacha believes this is a legacy project for her and the Estero Bay. Be sure and ask her why? And to study up in advance check out www.morrobaymaritime.org.
